Strathfield Park is a beautiful suburb of Sydney, and it has so many great things to see and do! Whether you’re looking for a place to take your kids for an afternoon or just want a relaxing day in nature, Strathfield Park has something for everyone. Here are five of the best places to visit while you’re in Strathfield:
Picnic with family
This park is perfect for a family picnic. There are plenty of trees and grassy areas to find shade, benches scattered throughout the park where you can sit and enjoy your lunch, or even have a little teddy bear’s picnic with your kids! You’ll also find playground equipment in this part of Strathfield Park as well for some fun outdoor playtime for the whole family.
Hang out at The Grove Cafe
The number one spot on our list is The Grove Cafe. Located right at the front entrance of Strathfield Park, it has been awarded ‘Best Café’ by Inner West Courier readers since its opening back in 2014. This café offers an extensive menu starting from breakfasts all day through until dinner time – they’ve got everything covered!
Ride the Strathfield Park Rail Trail
If you’re a lover of all things active, then this is a must-do for your day out at the park. You can rent bicycles from Wheelies Bicycles and cycle along one of only four rail trails in Sydney which are all located within an hour’s drive from each other – one of them being Strathfield! This trail stretches for 14 kilometres through many different scenic parts of NSW so it will be perfect if you want to get away from any busy roads or traffic while still exploring some great new places!
Visit the Yoda Statue Garden
This garden was created by artist Trent McCarthy back in 1997 with over 60 statues that depict characters and scenes from George Lucas’ film, Star Wars. Whether you’re just passing through the park on your way to somewhere else or looking for a new adventure, this is one of those attractions that’s hard to miss!
Picnic at the Tea House
This beautiful little tea house with its green grassy area and fountains provides an oasis from our modern world in amongst Sydney’s busy city life. Originally built back in 1887, it was designed by architect Arthur Anderson who also designed New Scotland Yard Police Station in London as well as several churches around NSW – so it has some pretty famous history too! It now operates mostly as a function centre but they still offer delicious snacks for visitors including homemade cakes which can be ordered online beforehand if you want ahead of time.
