Dural, NSW is one of the best suburbs to live in Castle Hill. It is home to great people, amazing greenspaces, and a wide range of amenities. It is also in close proximity to some of Australia’s best museums, including:

  1. The Bicentennial Museum and Gardens, located at 1337 Old Northern Road, is open between 9am-5pm every day except for Mondays. This museum features an exhibition about Australian history from 1788 through to 1988. It has a café on site and hosts regular events like talks and workshops.
  2. The Australian International Motor Racing Hall of Fame, which can be found at 79 Wilson Street in Parramatta Park, celebrates Australia’s motorsport heritage with displays including race cars and memorabilia such as trophies and photos. Entry costs $10 per person but is free for kids under 12.
  3. The Australian Opal Centre, which is situated at 39 Gunning Street in the Sydney suburb of Balmain. The museum features a display of the history and mining process of opals, as well as jewellery with different colours to suit most tastes.
  4. The Powerhouse Museum is located at 500 Harris Street in Ultimo and is open between 11am-12pm on Sundays. This museum features a range of exhibitions including many about science, technology, and design as well as video games from the 1970s through to the 1980s. The Parramatta Heritage Centre also deserves an honourable mention for its wide variety of exhibits including life in early colonial Sydney with artefacts such as furniture, food items, and clothing on display.   5. The Australian National Maritime Museum – This museum is located at Darling Harbour, and includes exhibits about the nation’s maritime history. It also features a working dry dock for boat maintenance as well as exhibitions on Australia’s naval traditions.
  6. The Hills District Historical Society Museum – This museum is located at the corner of King Street and New Canterbury Road. It features a collection of local memorabilia on display from when this region was first settled in 1807 to the present day.
  7. . Fagan Park Rural Museum – This museum is located at Fagan Park in the Castle Hill suburb of Dural. It features a range of displays to explore, including those about rural life and agricultural heritage.
  8. The Museum of Sydney – This museum is located in the Rocks area and features a range of exhibits including how this city evolved from 1788 to the present day. It also includes an exhibition on Australia’s Aboriginal history, fashion, food, and more.
