With Fox Relocations, your journey to a super-smooth and stress-free move has just began. We have created a solid guidelines that will help in the planning process, and save you a whole lot of trouble! Who to notify when you change your address;

Four weeks before the move

1. Book your move with us so that we can make necessary preparations and decide on the date and time
2. Get rid of unwanted cloths and furniture. You can sell them or donate them to charity
3. If your appliances cannot fit in your new home, donate them to charity or sell them
4. Call your homeowners insurance provider to make sure that your new home is covered before you move in
5. Call your club memberships for refunds or transfers

Two weeks before you move

1. Contact your electric, gas, water, and telephone providers to confirm the dates of termination for old services, and when the new ones will begin
2. Inform all regular services about your move i.e. cleaners and security services
3. Make sure you divert your mail with Australia post and change your address
4. Request your current dentist and doctor for referrals and transfer prescriptions and medical records
5. Ensure you organise pest control for your new premise

One week before the move

1. Plan on how to collect your unlimited free packing boxes from our offices
2. Ensure your mail is diverted with Australia Post
3. Drain oil and gas from chain saws, lawn mowers and other machines. Additionally, BBQ gas tanks should be emptied
4. Begin pre-packing with the things you will not use during the week. Ensure you label each box correctly to avoid confusions
5. Remember to collect all cloths at the drycleaners
6. Make sure you prepare the items that will go first into the truck, and those that will go last
7. Offer your children with a box where they will pack their treasure including toys and games.
8. Do not water your plants within 48 hours so that they cannot soil other items during the move

On the eve of the move

1. Make sure you defrost and clean your freezer and refrigerator
2. We organize our prepacking on this day. Ensure you are present, or you may decide to pack the final belongings yourself
3. Ensure that you load treasurable items yourself. Make sure that you don’t transport flammable and combustible goods. They include bleach, matches, lighting and cleaning fluids. Carry all aerosol cans yourself.
4. Collect all the keys to your old hose and give them to the new owners, landlord, trusted neighbour, or real estate agent.
5. Connect with utility companies for confirmation of the dates when new services will begin.

On the moving day

1. Confirm your new address details and contacts with us
2. Confirm with us the directions to your new home
3. Double check all the rooms in your house before going to your new property
4. Inspect every item as it is unloaded on the truck

After settling in your new home

1. Change the address on your driving license
2. Register your vehicle(s) at the new address
3. Ensure you change your address with the electoral commission
4. Restore all your home delivery services
5. Return your packing boxes to us within 28 days
