The Mosman Art Gallery is located in the leafy suburb of Mosman NSW, Sydney. It features a diverse selection of Australian and international art from the 18th century onwards, as well as craftwork by artists such as Sidney Nolan. Mosman Art Gallery was established in 1954 by a group of local residents and is now operated by the Mosman Municipal Council. It proudly showcases an impressive collection of over 400 paintings and drawings from well-known Australian artists such as Sidney Nolan, William Dobell, Russell Drysdale.
The gallery also exhibits sculptures by some of Australia’s most renowned sculptors including Brett Whiteley who was born locally on Sydney’s north shore in 1944. This art museum in NSW has been open since 1987 and houses both international works (including ancient Chinese bronzes) created during its early days as well as more recent acquisitions which include paintings from Florence Clerc-Renaudin to Fiona Hall.
