Zetland is a neighbourhood of Rosebery, NSW. There are so many things to do in Zetland that you’ll need more than one day to explore them all. From the beautiful beaches to the historic lighthouse and everything in between, Zetland has it all! Read on for our list of some of our favourite spots around town:
Have Fun in a Park
There are so many parks in Zetland to explore, including the historic lighthouse park.
This park is one of our favourites! It’s a great place for picnics and features views over Port Jackson and on clear days you can see all the way out to Sydney Heads. There are also some cool playgrounds here too so bring your kids along with you.
If you prefer quieter spots then head to Bexhill Reserve instead where there are some secluded picnic areas tucked away among towering native trees. Just be careful not to get lost as it looks like no-one has been around for quite a while now…
Visit The Beach
There’s nothing better than escaping from the city every once in awhile and spending time at one of the beautiful beaches in Zetland. There are a few to choose from, including Bexhill Beach which is just off the main street and has ocean views on either side making it ideal for long walks or picnics.
There’s also Bayview Beach where you can watch kite flyers practice their art while having fun at its sandy shores!
Travel Further Afield
Zetland is only 30 minutes drive south of Sydney city centre with plenty to see as you go! You could visit:
- Cronulla beach – A popular surf spot perfect for those who like riding waves
- Cronulla Mall – An iconic historical shopping area with over 200 stores, cafés and restaurants
The Royal National Park- A vast national park with over 100km of bushwalking tracks, home to some of Sydney’s most iconic wildlife and plant life.
Visit a Museum
Did you know that the Rosebery Historical Society Museum is located in Zetland? It’s a fantastic museum with an amazing collection of original artefacts and photographs from Rosebery.
The museum also has regular events such as film screenings, lectures and workshops for kids so it’ll keep everyone entertained! Also be sure to check out the Rosebery Library, a lovely historic building where you can browse books and magazines or take advantage of their free computer services.
Visit an Art Gallery
Zetland NSW has some amazing galleries for those who love art – there’s one in particular that we recommend! The Zetland Visual Arts Centre has exhibitions on all year round with something for everyone. It also hosts regular workshops and courses so it’s perfect if you want to learn new skills or try your hand at painting too.
