Fun Facts About Paul Keating Park in Bankstown NSW

Paul Keating Park is a beautiful park in the Sydney suburb of Bankstown NSW. The park was named after former Prime Minister Paul Keating and has been open to the public since 1994. It contains many features such as two playgrounds, an oval, picnic tables, barbecue facilities and toilets. This post will highlight some interesting facts about this lovely park on behalf of their website designer who would like to see more people using it!

This park is a haven for three of Sydney’s most common butterflies: the Australian Brown butterfly, the Golden Swallowtail and the Common Grass Yellow caterpillar.

It is also home to many native trees including Blackwood, Brush Boxes and Ironbarks which are all found in Eastern Australia. It’s important to know that the Blackwood is a threatened species in NSW and therefore it’s recommended not to harm them.

There are also many different types of mammals living in this forest including Eastern Grey Kangaroos, Wombats and Red Antechinus which can be seen during certain times of the year. During winter you might even see some Koalas!

Paul Keating Park contains four major walking paths through the park with each path being approximately half a kilometre long. The north-west corner includes an area for unaccompanied children where they’ll find plenty of equipment such as swings, slides, climbing frames and more!

Parking Information: There is parking available on both sides of Rossmore Road at all hours but we recommend caution when parking near the school during peak hours.

There are four major walking paths through this park with each being half a kilometre long. It is recommended that you stay near your car when parking during peak hours near Rossmore Road School.
