Why You Should Live in Bass Hill

Bass Hill is a neighbourhood in Bankstown, Australia. It was originally part of the Botany Bay municipality and became a part of South Sydney Council in 1948 when that council was formed. Bass Hill has a population of just over 10,000 people living there. The suburb is mostly residential with many different styles of houses and apartments to choose from. Here are some reasons why you should live in Bass Hill:

Affordability

This suburb is a lot more affordable than other suburbs in Sydney. There are still many beautiful houses to choose from.

Location

Bass Hill is about 15 minutes away from the Bankstown CBD and 25 minutes away from the Mascot train station, which makes it an ideal place to live for those who work or study near these locations. It also has easy access to major highways like Parramatta Road and Old Canterbury Road that will get you anywhere else in Sydney quickly without traffic jams!

Community Spirit

The Bass Hill community has spirit! They’re always creating events that help each other out and they have fun while doing so too. Whether it’s their annual festival, Christmas lights display every year at Central Park or their monthly street BBQs, the Bass Hill community is always up to something.

Public Transport

Another great thing about this suburb is the public transport available to help you get around. It’s not too far from major stations like Bankstown and Sydenham, which makes it easy for people who don’t have cars or would prefer to travel by train.

Safety

Bass Hill has a very low crime rate with only one reported robbery in 2017! There are also plenty of emergency services nearby if something does happen such as the Bass Hill Police Station or Royal Prince Alfred Hospital on King Street (or even St John Ambulance).

Schools & Education

There are two primary schools in Bass Hill: Banksia Road Primary School and Kirrawee High School. Public high school options include Rosemeadow Secondary College, Parramatta Marist High School and John Purchase College.

Cycling-Friendly

Bass Hill is a great suburb for cyclists and it has plenty of cycleways. The Bass Hill Cycleway runs from St Johns Road to Walkers Creek, connecting with the Cooks River Cycle Track at Banksia Road along the way.

Diversity

Bass Hill is home to a diverse range of people. The population consists mainly of Australians from European backgrounds but there are also many Asians and Pacific Islanders living in the suburb too!

Earning Potential

The average income for Bass Hill residents was $54,000 per year. This may be higher or lower depending on your occupation though so it’s worth looking at jobs available near this area before deciding if you want to live here.
